If you, your spouse or family member, a friend or a neighbour, are living with dementia, or are caring for someone living with dementia, WE CAN HELP! We can help to provide community resources and information, individual and family counselling, support groups for those diagnosed and for caregivers, recreational programs, music and art therapy, and so much more.

Kingston Health Sciences Centre is southeastern Ontario’s complex, acute and specialty care, research and teaching hospital.  We care for more than 500,000 patients and their families from across our region. Volunteers are active at our Hotel Dieu site, Kingston General site, the Cancer Centre of SE Ontario, the Detoxification Centre and the Eating Disorders Clinic.

The Canadian Frailty Network (CFN) is Canada’s sole network devoted to changing behaviours that help slow down, avoid or mitigate the risks of frailty in older adults. It also improves care for older Canadians living with frailty by supporting their families and caregivers.

The Canadian Cancer Society works tirelessly to save and improve lives. Thanks to our donors and volunteers, we’re able to fund groundbreaking cancer research into all types of cancer, offer support services to help people better manage life with cancer, shape healthy public policies to prevent cancer and support those living with the disease, and offer trusted cancer information for all Canadians.

The Alzheimer's Society of KFL&A provides free education, referral, advocacy, and support to families, friends, caregivers, and persons with dementia, Alzheimer's, and/or memory loss. 

MS Canada is a national voluntary organization, founded in 1948, dedicated to supporting Canadians affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). It provides community support, education, and advocacy, while funding research to find the cause and cure for this chronic nervous system disease.

We provide shelter, essential items and technical assistance to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people recover and rebuild their homes after disaster. We listen and adapt our support to the needs of each community, working together with those affected by disaster, alongside our supporters and partners. ShelterBox teams work with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives. Every disaster is different and so is every community, so we spend time with those affected to make sure we can offer the right support at the right time to help them recover. See how we work. Our teams can travel by boat, helicopter or tuk-tuk to get to the families who need your support – whatever it takes to get to the people who have lost their homes to disaster. DRAGONS’ DEN producers are hitting the road for an audition tour, with more than 30 stops in Canadian cities. The search is on for a new crop of aspiring entrepreneurs for CBC’s hit TV show’s landmark 10th season. Entrepreneurs from across the country have another chance to face the Dragons in a bid to score some high-powered financial backing for their business ventures. We are coming to Kingston and we are really hoping you might be able to connect us with some volunteers interested in helping out for this audition location! We are looking for a total of 3 volunteers. We need the volunteers to be available (preferably full day): Fri Feb 27 – Kingston, ON 10AM-5PM, Ambassador Hotel and Conference Centre 1550 Princess Street (Atrium) Volunteer duties would include: - Signing pitchers in - Helping producers - Putting up signs - Directing pitchers - Keeping the flow of auditions smooth This is a great opportunity to see how the show works right from the very beginning! The Kingston Coalition for Active Transportation (KCAT) was established in April 2008 and has since worked to facilitate the increase of active transportation in Kingston. KCAT works with various stakeholders in the city to enhance opportunities and move forward policy that encourage active transportation.

Student Links matches students aged 14-21 in the Kingston community who identify as having an intellectual disability with a mentor to explore roles for their future based on their common interests.

Community Living Ontario envisions a society where people who have an intellectual disability belong, have equal rights, respect and acceptance, a sense of self-worth and opportunities for growth. The gifts, uniqueness and innate value of each individual are celebrated, supported and acknowledged as essential to the completeness of the whole community.

We offer a hot meal at lunchtime, five days a week, all year long. The Wearhouse operates offering free household items and clothing to those who visit our facility. We also offer an Emergency Food Pantry to assist our neighbours who are running short and find themselves without enough food.
