Sexual Assault Centre Kingston is a not-for-profit organization providing free, confidential, non-judgmental support for all survivors 12+ regardless of gender or identity of recent and/or historic sexual violence in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A;) since 1978.
At the heart of our work is a deep partnership with our community and all its members. Together, we work to:
Support individuals and their loved ones to heal from sexual violence
Educate individuals and organizations on the impact of sexual violence
Organize and advocate for systemic and social change required to end sexual violence
Community Living Kingston and District advocates alongside those with an intellectual disability to experience a welcoming inclusive community in addition to providing support and services that respond to people’s goals, interests and needs.
Extend-A-Family (EAF) was established in 1981 with a goal of providing individuals who have a disability with opportunities to develop friendships and integrate into their communities.
Extend-A-Family Kingston is committed to providing a range of supports and services to individuals with a disability and their families. As a not-for-profit organization, Extend-A-Family Kingston is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We provide a choice of services and supports for children with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as a range of services and supports for adults with a developmental disability.
Telephone Aid Line Kingston (TALK) is a confidential, anonymous, non-judgmental, and volunteer-based listening service. We aim to meet the needs of the KFL&A community. We achieve this by creating an empathetic and safe environment on our listening line and during outreach events.
ASO is a registered charity founded in 2000 by parents of children with Level 1 ASD (including those previously diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome under the DSM-IV) and concerned professionals. ASO is the only agency in Ontario, Canada that is solely devoted to serving those with Level 1 ASD, their families and other interested individuals.

ElderDog Canada
Honouring and preserving the animal-human bond
ElderDog Canada Inc. is a national, registered Charitable Organization dedicated to ageing people, ageing dogs, and the important connection they enjoy. Our purposes are to:
- Assist and support older adults in the care and well-being of their canine companions;
- Promote the welfare of older dogs whose lives have been disrupted due to illness, relocation or death of a human companion;
- Educate about the human-animal bond in general and the significant role of companion animals in the health and well-being of seniors;
- Support and conduct research into the human-animal bond with a focus on seniors and canine companionship.

The CVITP is a collaborative partnership between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), community organizations, and their volunteers. The program collaborates with community organizations and volunteers to provide free tax preparation services to Canadian taxpayers with a modest income and simple tax situation, and who are unable to complete their returns on their own.
With the CVITP, you’ll be helping thousands of people get their entitled benefits and credits. As a CVITP volunteer, you’ll receive training, guidance, and tax software. Register to volunteer today!
Local volunteer led group raising funds for local mental health services and programs, organized through Mood Disorders Canada.
Jobwell (previously VOCEC) exists to create meaningful job opportunities for people living with persistent mental illness and is seeking Volunteer Board Members to help support its continued success and growth.
To achieve its mission, Jobwell operates a series of small businesses including cafes, commercial cleaning, and assembly. Together, these ventures employ 100 people living with mental illness. As an award-winning not-for-profit, all earnings are reinvested to create more jobs in Kingston.
We have weathered the pandemic and are on a mission to grow. Volunteering as a Board Member is a meaningful way to contribute to a thriving and vibrant Kingston community.
Board Member Contributions:
- Volunteer 2-3 hours per month
- Provide Operational Guidance
- Suggest and approve ideas for new and existing businesses
- Review Financial Statements and approve allocation of funds
- Provide guidance and input for policy development
- Advocate on behalf of the corporation and its members
- Contribute to planning and strategic exercises to ensure business growth
Outreach St. George’s Kingston (OSGK) was established in 1997 as an independent, non-profit and secular organization to:
- co-ordinate resources to provide food and clothing to the poor, and
- extend financial support to charitable agencies that serve children and/or abused women in the City of Kingston.
The Lunch Program has been its principal activity in recent years, but OSGK has also coordinated the financial support for a refugee family that settled in Kingston in 2003.
