Health City Ontario derives from a belief in the principles of the Canada Health Act and the power and value of grass roots consultation in our universally accessible, publicly funded healthcare system. Our priority is to engage the public and care providers in order to effect change in the interest of acquiring timely, consistent and reliable access to healthcare for Ontario citizens. Our goal is to raise awareness for patients, providers, politicians and media of the many real challenges faced today in accessing health care in Kingston and the Southeast LHIN (Local Health Integrated Network). Educate, inform and engage our community on Bill 41 and ensure at its enactment it is written and empowered to benefit the health of all Ontarians.

We do this by: Concentrating our efforts in lung health in the following areas: asthma, smoking-related diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and air quality. Providing accurate, timely and quality information and education programs to a range of audiences, including people who suffer from lung disease and their families, youth, health care providers and the general public and government. Providing for and using ongoing research to support our work and our activities. Supporting medical research studies into lung disease. Raising funds from all legitimate sources. Abiding by all regulatory rules relating to charitable organizations. Ensuring the prudent management of all funds entrusted to us.

We provide services and support to thousands in our community with a mental health and/or addiction concern. Supports include Counseling and Treatment, Addiction Services, Supported Independent Living, Intensive Case Management, Justice/Court Support Services, Housing Services, Vocational Services and others. Client service sites located in Kingston and Napanee as well as by appointment in Amherstview, Verona, Sharbot Lake, Northbrook and others.

The Kingston Coalition for Active Transportation (KCAT) was established in April 2008 and has since worked to facilitate the increase of active transportation in Kingston. KCAT works with various stakeholders in the city to enhance opportunities and move forward policy that encourage active transportation.

Sexual Assault Centre Kingston is a not-for-profit organization providing free, confidential, non-judgmental support for all survivors 12+ regardless of gender or identity of recent and/or historic sexual violence in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A;) since 1978. At the heart of our work is a deep partnership with our community and all its members. Together, we work to: Support individuals and their loved ones to heal from sexual violence Educate individuals and organizations on the impact of sexual violence Organize and advocate for systemic and social change required to end sexual violence

Community Living Kingston and District advocates alongside those with an intellectual disability to experience a welcoming inclusive community in addition to providing support and services that respond to people’s goals, interests and needs.

Extend-A-Family (EAF) was established in 1981 with a goal of providing individuals who have a disability with opportunities to develop friendships and integrate into their communities. Extend-A-Family Kingston is committed to providing a range of supports and services to individuals with a disability and their families. As a not-for-profit organization, Extend-A-Family Kingston is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We provide a choice of services and supports for children with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as a range of services and supports for adults with a developmental disability.

Telephone Aid Line Kingston (TALK) is a confidential, anonymous, non-judgmental, and volunteer-based listening service. We aim to meet the needs of the KFL&A community. We achieve this by creating an empathetic and safe environment on our listening line and during outreach events.

The Kingston School of Art (KSOA) is a non-profit charitable organization. Formed in 1994 and governed by a community-based volunteer Board of Directors, KSOA is supported by fundraising, student fees, donations and grants. Its mission is to provide cost-effective year-round art classes, have studio-based hands-on instruction and provide practical artistic experiences. Through the creation of an inclusive and supportive environment, KSOA art space encourages artistic individuality and innovation, as well as cultivates an appreciation of the arts within the greater community. KSOA also runs the Window Art Gallery (WAG), a non-profit volunteer run community art gallery which was established in May 2011.

Student Links matches students aged 14-21 in the Kingston community who identify as having an intellectual disability with a mentor to explore roles for their future based on their common interests.
