Jobwell (previously VOCEC) exists to create meaningful job opportunities for people living with persistent mental illness and is seeking Volunteer Board Members to help support its continued success and growth. To achieve its mission, Jobwell operates a series of small businesses including cafes, commercial cleaning, and assembly. Together, these ventures employ 100 people living with mental illness. As an award-winning not-for-profit, all earnings are reinvested to create more jobs in Kingston. We have weathered the pandemic and are on a mission to grow. Volunteering as a Board Member is a meaningful way to contribute to a thriving and vibrant Kingston community. Kingston Frontenac Public Library is a 16 branch public library system serving the City of Kingston and Frontenac County.  Our primary purpose is to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone in Kingston Frontenac. We aim to achieve this purpose by helping residents transform today’s vast information resources into the solutions, facts, know-how, inspiration, and entertainment they need to learn, solve problems, read, engage with their community and reach their personal aspirations.

W.A.F.F.L.E.S. (Wild About Family & Friends Learning Engineering & Science) Community Robotics is a not-for-profit, volunteer-operated organization located in Kingston, Ontario Canada. We have a family of community-based FIRST Robotics programs for youth aged 4 through 18. Our youngest students start off with LEGO DUPLO, with subsequent age groups moving on to LEGO robotics kits. Older students design, build and program custom metal robots with our high school students toping the scale with a 120lb robot. We are always in need of both technical and non-technical mentors to support our students and the time commitment can usually be adjusted to fit your availability. The Marine Museum of the Great Lakes is on a mission to connect the public with the maritime heritage of Kingston and the Great Lakes through programs, exhibits and collections. Our history is intimately entwined with the space we inhabit. The Marine Museum of the Great Lakes is fortunate to be located on a national historic site that forms a considerable part of the Museum’s narrative.  It means that the Museum is able to at once share the story of the maritime heritage of Kingston and the Great Lakes, all the while connecting visitors to a physical piece of that history. Established in 1975 by a group of local divers who sought to protect the artefacts of the shipwrecks they explored, the Museum occupied the Kingston Dry Dock property (formerly the location of the Kingston Shipyards Co.) from 1975-2016. The Museum was forced to vacate the property in 2016 when the federally-owned property was sold to a local developer, and moved to its storefront gallery location at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour where it currently resides. In August 2019, the Marine Museum purchased the historic property following a gift from a local benefactor, and in October 2021 it moved back home. This set in motion an opportunity to makes our plans to create a new 21st century Museum a reality. Outreach St. George’s Kingston (OSGK) was established in 1997 as an independent, non-profit and secular organization to: - co-ordinate resources to provide food and clothing to the poor, and - extend financial support to charitable agencies that serve children and/or abused women in the City of Kingston. The Lunch Program has been its principal activity in recent years, but OSGK has also coordinated the financial support for a refugee family that settled in Kingston in 2003.

WHO WE ARE Lasagna Love is a global nonprofit and grassroots movement that aims to positively impact communities by connecting neighbors with neighbors through homemade meal delivery. We also seek to eliminate stigmas associated with asking for help when it is needed most. Our mission is simple: feed families, spread kindness, and strengthen communities. Our Mission Lasagna Love was started at the beginning of the pandemic when the founder of Good to Mama was looking for a way to help moms in her community. She and her toddler started making and delivering meals to families in the neighborhood who were struggling, whether that struggle was financial, emotional, or simply a feeling of overwhelm. Lasagna Love has since grown into an international movement, with thousands of people all cooking and delivering meals to families in their communities. What we do is simple: feed families, spread kindness, and strengthen communities. Our mission is not only to help address the incredible rise in food insecurity among families but also to provide a simple act of love and kindness during a time full of uncertainty and stress. We are seeking Lasagna Chefs (LC)! What is a Lasagna Chef (LC)? This is you, our wonderful team of volunteers who answer the call every week to provide meals to people who request. Founded in 1994, Habitat for Humanity Kingston Limestone Region is a charitable organization working toward a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Our mission is to bring communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership in the Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington area. With the help of many volunteers, the organization has been able to place 25 families with safe, decent and affordable homeownership.

Established in 1980, Concerned Friends, a registered charity has been active across Ontario communities for over 40 years. Representing a vibrant and growing community we are committed to our mission: to advance the health and well-being and enrich the experiences of those living in long-term care homes across Ontario.

The Kingston Women’s Art Festival is run entirely by the dedication of its enthusiastic volunteers. The success of the Festival depends on many hard working hands. Every year, our volunteers help with such things as registration on the morning of the event, the silent auction throughout the day, and offering assistance to booths to give our wonderful artists washroom breaks and time to eat, to name a few.

The 3B Program is an inclusive gardening skills based program for Teens and Adults with exceptionalities, living in Kingston Ontario. This program is run through community cooperation and support. Volunteers are crucial to the success of the program as each participant is partnered with a volunteer support. Over the course of the summer, everyone will have the chance to learn new skills and make new friends. This is a great opportunity for those who are looking to fulfill high school volunteer hours or for adults looking to connect with community. The 3B program runs 9am-2:30pm, every Thursday and Friday throughout the summer. The program is located at the Lakeside Community Garden, 670 Front Rd, Kingston

We are looking for volunteers to spend a hour fitting a client with clothes. For work, job interview, wedding, get some new threads or whatever reason. We take donations of gently used clothes that we fit to men. The Mission for Well Suited Kingston is to promote the economic independence of men in need, by providing suitable attire, career development tools and essential life-skills helping them enter the workforce, stay employed and become community role models
