A self-described chronic volunteer will be one of 13 Kingstonians representing the city as a Community Leader in 2017 as Canada celebrates its 150th birthday.
Megan McKever, 28, volunteers with the Red Cross as an emergency response team member and with local organization Kenya Help and the Girl Guides of Canada. In her free time, the Barrie native, who came to Kingston to study sociology and history at Queen's University, is an event co-ordinator by trade but works as a financial assistant at the chemical engineering department at Queen's.
