Opportunity Description
Literacy Link Eastern Ontario is seeking volunteers who are passionate about literacy and community service to join us as members of our Board of Directors to help us achieve our mission of empowering literacy service providers and learners in Eastern Ontario.
We are a small but mighty organization with a vision that adult literacy service providers have access to excellent education and skill development tools that will support student learners in achieving their goals. We develop connections, communications, resources and collaborations to support adult literacy and adult learning opportunities.
Joining our Board of Directors offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization and the adult education system in Ontario.
You will be able to share your knowledge, experience and expertise or develop valuable leadership skills and experience working in a provincially funded nonprofit charity. We offer great professional development opportunities.
Time required: 2-4 hours/month
Location: Our Board meets online monthly and in-person 1-2 times a year. We are located in Brockville and are seeking volunteer Board members from the general area of Southeastern Ontario including Picton, Napanee, Kingston, Brockville and Cornwall areas.
