W.A.F.F.L.E.S. (Wild About Family & Friends Learning Engineering & Science) Community Robotics is a not-for-profit, volunteer-operated organization located in Kingston, Ontario Canada. We have a family of community-based FIRST Robotics programs for youth aged 4 through 18. Our youngest students start off with LEGO DUPLO, with subsequent age groups moving on to LEGO robotics kits. Older students design, build and program custom metal robots with our high school students toping the scale with a 120lb robot. We are always in need of both technical and non-technical mentors to support our students and the time commitment can usually be adjusted to fit your availability. The Nanny Angel Network is a registered charity and the only organization of its kind in Canada. We have been providing free, specialized childcare support and programs to families living with cancer since 2009. Three main goals that drive everything we do: Provide specialized, Child Life-informed childcare support and programs for parents with cancer to give them the time they need to take care of themselves and reduce existing social support burn-out. Build resiliency in children by teaching life-long coping skills. Provide a sense of normalcy for children during a tumultuous time in their lives. Backed by 30 years of nanny agency experience, NAN has continued to successfully provide free resources for cancer patients and their families for over a decade. We support families at any point during the cancer journey. We’re there from the time of diagnosis, during treatment or through palliative care. We continue to support families who need help for up to a year during the bereavement period.

We are looking for volunteers to spend a hour fitting a client with clothes. For work, job interview, wedding, get some new threads or whatever reason. We take donations of gently used clothes that we fit to men. The Mission for Well Suited Kingston is to promote the economic independence of men in need, by providing suitable attire, career development tools and essential life-skills helping them enter the workforce, stay employed and become community role models

Our work as a blind foundation is powered by a network of volunteers, donors and partners from coast to coast to coast.

Take a Pain Check Foundation is a Canadian registered, international youth-led community and non-profit organization founded in self-advocacy to empower youth with rheumatic diseases. They host bi-weekly podcasts, run ambassador programs for health professionals and youth, pilot rheumatic-related events, feature stories on their blog platform and lead monthly Joint Chat Rheum hangouts. Our Mission:  Take a Pain Check’s aims to empower youth and young adults impacted by rheumatic disease to advocate for themselves and to create a supportive, safe, and inclusive community where individuals feel understood. ​Our Vision: Through this youth led initiative our vision is that all youth and young adults feel supported in their journey with rheumatic illness.

The Rideau Trail Association (RTA) is a charitable, volunteer-run organization with two main roles: First, it coordinates and promotes self-propelled activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and other outdoor activities.  Hikes and other activities are led by certified and experienced hike leaders.  Hikes are suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced hikers. Second, it stewards over 40 trails that span over 450 km. The main trail, known as the Rideau Trail, is roughly 325 km in length, and goes between downtown Kingston and downtown Ottawa. Our Mission To promote, encourage and conduct responsible hiking and similar self-propelled activities while stewarding the Rideau Trail network. Our Vision A community of engaged hikers; a legacy of enduring trails. The RTA has three Clubs that conduct led hikes and other activities throughout the year.  Clubs are located in Kingston, Central (Perth area), and Ottawa.

Zero Food Waste is a Canadian nonprofit dedicated to promoting sustainability and reducing food waste in our community. Our mission isto create a more resilient and environmentally conscious Kingston by connecting local food businesses, residents, and organizations to minimize waste and maximize resources. Kingston food recovery efforts involve collecting surplus food from local businesses and redistributing it to those in need, ensuring that no food goes to waste. We are currently looking for volunteer drivers with a license to go on "food delivery runs" from local Kingston restaurants to assigned charities. (Distances are max 1 hour)  Join us in our commitment to creating a healthier, more sustainable community, where every bite counts!!

Cycle Kingston, Inc., is a registered Canadian charitable organization and incorporated non-profit whose mandate is to provide safe cycling education and cycling skills training in Kingston, Ontario, so that citizens will gain competence and confidence, and will become empowered to choose cycling as a personal means of transportation. Cycling offers many benefits: health, well-being, environmental, economic, social, and more. Cycle Kingston works with many community partners to offer a broad variety of safe cycling initiatives, from in-class presentations at local schools, to coordinating the annual Cycling Week festival, to offering individual and small group cycling lessons, to outreach to community service groups and businesses...and so much more. Cycle Kingston is governed by a volunteer board of directors, selected based on their areas of expertise and commitment. We hire summer students each year who serve as Cycling Ambassadors and lead the delivery of our many spring and summer programs, while role modeling safe cycling behaviour.

Welcome to Autism Ontario Autism Ontario (legally incorporated as Autism Society Ontario) is a charitable organization with a history of over 50 years representing the thousands of people on the autism spectrum and their families across Ontario. Made up of knowledgeable parents, professionals, and autistic self-advocates who can speak to the key issues that impact autistic individuals and their families, Autism Ontario is the province’s leading source of information and referral on autism, and one of the largest collective voices representing the autism community. There are seven regions across the province of Ontario. The work we do helps all autistic individuals and families in their communities have access to meaningful supports, information, and connections so they are equitably and seamlessly supported across their life course. Autism Ontario is guided by the board of directors, composed of parents, people on the spectrum, and respected professionals, who provide governance, expertise, and guidance to the organization on a volunteer basis. Autism Ontario aims to support and advocate alongside all autistic individuals across the province, regardless of race, ethnicity, income, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Now more than ever, we must be active and deliberate in listening to and including all autistic voices across the province. We will continue to expand our reach to neglected segments of our community. We will work to provide spaces of support and advocacy for our Black and Indigenous communities. And we will work together to dismantle the systems of oppression that prevent many autistic individuals from realizing their potential and living meaningful lives. Galilee Centre is a relatively small organization with an operating budget of about $0.75 million, with land, buildings and a scenic waterfront which is the envy of the neighbourhood! We define our catchment area as the “Eastern Ontario Triangle” described by the line of a) Pembroke-Ottawa-Cornwall, b) Cornwall-Brockville Kingston, and c) Kingston-Pembroke, and thereby includes those municipalities such as Perth, Smiths Falls, Carleton Place, Kemptville, Almonte/Mississippi Mills and, of course, Galilee’s hometown of Arnprior among its client areas. Galilee has a 40-year history, and is a not-for-profit corporation with a charitable designation with CRA. We are governed by a small 8-10 member Policy Board which is accountable to the Membership of Galilee Centre and accountable for operational results managed by an Executive Director. As a retreat organization, Galilee Centre offers programs, services and facilities that are open to all, whether of a faith orientation (churched or un-churched), people of no-faith and people of various ethnic, cultural or religious backgrounds, in an open, Christian-oriented manner.
